Changing the Public Health Conversation

The Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion takes inspiration from its donor, legendary ad man Sid Lerner

Established in 2014 by a gift from Sid and Helaine Lerner, longtime Bloomberg School of Public Health supporters, the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion seeks to improve the way health information is communicated and disseminated.

The center gives public health professionals the tools to address behavior change on the individual, community, and society levels, says Director Sara Benjamin Neelon. Recent initiatives the center has supported include the Monday Mile, a national program that gets people moving more often during the day, and research about violence near and around alcohol outlets.
