The Skip Viragh Outpatient Cancer Building brings several outpatient treatment services under one roof

Connie Veillette said when she received her initial pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2013, it felt like a death sentence. After coming to the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2015, she gained new hope that’s been boosted by her experiences in the Skip Viragh Outpatient Cancer Building which opened in 2018.

“The new Skip Viragh Building is really remarkable place,” Veillette said of the building, which was supported by a lead gift in honor of the late Albert P. “Skip” Viragh, Jr., a Maryland philanthropist. “Cancer patients have access to a whole range of services in that building. It’s only through this cross-disciplinary approach that you actually make breakthroughs.”

[Editor’s Note: Veillette died in April 2019 following her long battle with cancer.]
