Strengthen Communities

When Johns Hopkins made his gift to establish a university and a hospital, it was really a gift to Baltimore and the world. That’s a responsibility we feel deeply to this day.

We invite you to join us in these efforts to invest in and partner with the communities in which we live and work. Your gift to strengthen communities can help:

  • increase diversity and inclusion in fields like music and business through programs at the Peabody Institute and Carey Business School
  • improve local schools through Hopkins-sponsored early-childhood, wellness, and STEM education partnerships
  • expand opportunities for undergraduate civic engagement such as the President’s Day of Service and Community Impact Internships Program

Why I Give

Two decades ago, a trio of Baltimore-area teen suicides led to the birth of Hopkins' Adolescent Depression Awareness Program, which trains educators to deliver a course on suicide, depression, and bipolar disorder. To date, it's reached more than 100,000 high school students in 20 states.
