Under a canopy of changing leaves on the Homewood campus, students left their Thursday afternoon classes to ride a mechanical bull, play Skee-Ball, and feast on soft pretzels and ice cream. The festivities on the Wyman and Keyser Quads were part of the kickoff carnival for Hoptoberfest.
The Hopkins Student Organization for Programming (HOP) runs this annual fall tradition which began in 2013, and the Hopkins Family Fund supports the event as part of its mission to fund student programming, campus traditions, and extracurricular activities.
In addition to the carnival, this year’s three-day festival included a haunted house in the Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center, a pumpkin patch, and a concert by R&B artist Khalid.
