As part of a 10-year master plan, Johns Hopkins is building two 12-story, connected clinical towers: the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cardiovascular and Critical Care Tower and a tower that will house the Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center at Johns Hopkins. Costing $994 million, of which $267 million was raised from private support, the towers will include:
• adult and pediatric emergency departments
• adult and pediatric diagnostic imaging/radiology
• 33 operating rooms
• 355 adult beds (single rooms)
• 205 pediatric beds (single rooms)
• Two-story main entrance lobby, four-story children’s atrium lobby
• Glass-enclosed bridges between the Orleans Garage and the towers
• Connection to the main hospital corridors, Weinberg and Nelson/Harvey buildings
• 1.6 million square feet on a 5-acre site
• lower floors that are nearly 3 acres each, or 130,680 square feet per floor
